and is also reproduced below.

Some of the highlights are:

  • NOEL-V updates, including support for SPARROW SIMD from BSC and other fixes.
  • SPIMCTRL updates, including logic to control the chip select deassertion time.
  • Vivado tool flow updated so that Vivado IPs can be generated dynamically using TCL.
  • Improved Lattice Radiant flow so that new versions of the tool can be used.
  • Support for the NVC simulator.

Updated example bitstreams for LEON5 and NOEL-V are available for download from:

If you find any any reproducible bugs or issues please don’t hesitate to post in the community.

----------------------- Release 2026.3-b4301 ---------------------------

2026-10-13 SPIMCTRL updates. Revision bumped (5 → 6)

  • Logic to handle minimum chip select deassertion time between accesses has been reworked. Before a static delay of two SPI clock cycles were used. Now the delay is configurable separately for both read and write accesses. Set using two 8-bit register fields in the CTRL2 register. NOTE: Behavioral change, before the SPI clock would clock two times with the chip select deasserted after every access. This was needed for some, no longer supported, SD/MMC SPI devices. As far as we know it should not cause any problems with the compatibility for regular SPI memory devices to omit it. Additionally, it should be noted that the CSN wait timimg for existing designs will now have been changed compared to the old implementation. Depending on what memory is used and the system clock frequency, the default settings might need to be tweaked (‘csnwait_rd’ and ‘csnwait_wr’ VHDL generics), though in almost all cases it should not be necessary.
  • Core can now be configured to allow one external pipelining stage of the SPI signals. Both ingoing and outgoing signals needs to be pipelined if enabled. Set using new VHDL generic.
  • Logic to drive the output-enable signals has been reworked. Functionality is the same, with the exception that a bug when doing memory writes in 1-1-4 mode has been fixed.

2026-10-08 Lattice Radiant flow: several enhancements to improve support for newer versions of Radiant.

2026-10-08 AMD Vivado flow: added support for generation of Vivado IP cores using TCL scripts instead of pregenerated XCI files. This removes the dependency on specific versions of Vivado when Vivado IP cores were present in a design.

2026-10-05 NOEL-V updates:

  • Added support for SPARROW SIMD from BSC. Currently only available for 64-bit HP and GP configuration.
  • Fixed issue with snooping and LR instruction. Could miss detection write if a burst access crossed over a cache line limit.
  • Updated AHB trace in the debug system.
  • Disabled the internal instruction trace (trace is now located in the debug system).

2026-09-22 Techmap fixes for the Lattice Nexus family:

  • Added the missing ODDR primitive for Lattice Certus.
  • Fixed a bug where IDDR primitive mapping for Certus devices had Q1 data incorrectly aligned to the wrong edge.

2026-09-08 L2C_LITE bugfix: Adjusted synchronization between IP and memory while reading data in the TAG_MATCH_1_S state.

2026-08-25 Added support for NVC VHDL simulator.

2026-07-13 NOEL-V: instruction fetch was not nullify when enter power-down This could case processor to not leave pover-down.
